ABOUT THE SESSIONS
Each block takes inspiration from a variety of artists and mediums. They are as varied as possible enabling the children to explore different ways of working from painting, to sculpture, to collage and more.
HERE’S WHAT WE’LL BE GETTING UP TO…
24/02 - Stacking sculptures - we’re kicking off this block with clay! We’ll be taking inspiration from Annie Morris, studying 3D shapes and forms and creating super colourful stacking sculptures!
03/03 - Junktastic books - to celebrate world book day we’ll be getting creative with fabric, cardboard and paint to make our very own 3D books or costumes based on our favourite book or character. Bring along a book, comic or magazine for inspiration - it could be anything you love to read or watch and let your imaginations run wild!
10/03 - Miniature worlds - we’ll be going small scale this week, creating miniature borrower worlds. We’ll be looking at how backgrounds and foregrounds can play a big part in composition!
17/03 - Pop art posters - we’ll be going big, painting wonderful pop art wall hangings inspired by our favourite poems or quotes and artist Roy Lichtenstein. These will be displayed at Harts Fest on 12th April. Bring your favourite poem or quote with you, or write your own and bring it along to the session!
24/03 - Dotty Easter blooms - we’ll be taking inspo from polka dot artist Yayoi Kusama, to create super colourful abstract Easter flowers, which we’ll pop in a dotty vase and display at home for Easter!
